PENN Battalion III Slow Pitch Jigging is a range of specialist sea fishing rods designed for slow pitch jigging. The one-piece carbon blank combines low weight with the responsive action needed to control metal jigs and fight fish effectively in deeper water.
The Moderate action allows the blank to load smoothly and helps give the jig its characteristic movement during lifts and the falling phase. The rod is designed to maintain good contact with the lure, helping the angler detect subtle changes in movement and bites when fishing at depth.
Spiral-mounted Fuji Alconite guides help keep the setup stable during jigging and under load. The rods are also fitted with a Fuji reel seat and EVA handle, providing a secure and comfortable grip during long sessions from the boat.
The range includes two 1.88 m (6'2") models. The lighter version weighs 163 g and is rated for jigs up to 150 g, while the more powerful model weighs 168 g and handles jigs up to 300 g. This allows the rod to be matched to fishing depth, jig weight and sea conditions.
