Salmo Hornet 6 cm is the largest model in the new generation of the classic Hornet series, designed for effectively covering deeper water. Its characteristic body and strong, high-frequency action make the lure highly noticeable underwater. The 6 cm size is particularly well suited to perch, zander and pike, as well as other predators feeding on small fish.
The Hornet starts working almost immediately after the retrieve begins and produces strong, regular vibrations that are clearly felt through the rod. It remains stable at higher retrieve speeds and in current, making it suitable for both classic spinning and methodically covering deeper channels, drop-offs, underwater shelves and areas around submerged structure.
The Floating version weighs 11 g and runs at approximately 2–5.6 m. When the retrieve is stopped, it begins to rise towards the surface, allowing the running depth to be changed and helping the lure pass over certain obstacles. The Sinking version weighs 14 g and runs at approximately 3–4 m, allowing it to reach deeper fish quickly and cover a selected depth range more precisely.
Salmo Hornet 6 cm can be retrieved steadily, worked with changes of speed, fished with short pauses or used close to the bottom to make the most of its strong action. Its pronounced vibration keeps the lure easy to feel even at greater depth and in water with limited visibility.
Salmo Hornet 6 cm is a strong choice for anglers looking for a compact lure for deeper spinning. Floating and sinking versions make it easy to adapt the presentation to the venue and effectively fish rivers, lakes, canals and reservoirs.
