Soft jerkbait lures with a flexible tail for zander fishing

X Zone Lures Pro Series Whiplash Shad 5 is a pintail soft plastic lure measuring 5 inches (approximately 12.7 cm), designed for targeting predatory fish with a natural baitfish presentation. Its slender body and long, thin tail imitate the profile of a small baitfish, while the soft, flexible material allows the lure to move naturally during steady retrieves, short twitches and free falls. This soft jerkbait design is particularly suited to targeting zander in open water and presenting the lure precisely around holding areas. The key feature of the Whiplash Shad 5 is its long, highly responsive pintail, which reacts to changes in retrieve speed and subtle movements of the rod tip. When worked with short twitches, the lure produces irregular darting movements that resemble a fleeing baitfish. During a free fall, its thin tail creates a gentle quivering action, maintaining a natural presentation even when the retrieve is paused. Whiplash Shad 5

X Zone Lures Pro Series Whiplash Shad 5 can be worked with short twitches and pauses, retrieved steadily or allowed to fall naturally through the water column. It is suitable for drop shot and Texas rig presentations, as well as rigging with a hook positioned towards the front of the body. The lure can also be used for vertical fishing, where precise depth control and the ability to keep the bait in the strike zone are particularly important.

At 5 inches (approximately 12.7 cm), the Whiplash Shad 5 is a suitable choice for targeting zander, particularly when fishing open water or areas where predators are feeding on larger baitfish. Its slender profile and responsive tail allow anglers to alternate between more active twitching retrieves and slower, controlled presentations. The lure can also be used when targeting pike.

X Zone Lures Pro Series Whiplash Shad 5 is available in a selection of colours. Each pack contains 7 lures. It is a versatile pintail soft plastic lure for anglers looking for a natural baitfish imitation with a long, flexible tail that can be worked actively or presented slowly at a chosen depth.
